Hello all,
I'm going on holiday to the beach in a couple of weeks and was wondering where one can buy prescription goggles/snorkling masks in HK (preferably on HK island)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

erba9,
I'm interested in this one myself, but isn't everyone's prescription different? If you don't mind my asking, what did you actually get at GigaSports? If I wandered in there surely they aren't likely to have some to my personal prescription available. It really is something I've been considering for about 10 years now, and was only prompted into action by this thread.

Hello, TC. Arena and Speedo offer prescription swimming goggles [not snorkling masks]. Both brands are are available at GigaSports). Both brands offer single "eyes" (lenses) for the goggles in different prescriptions starting from 1.00 up to 10.00 in increments of 0.5. You pick the grade that that's right for you, then the sales person will assemble the goggles for you. The lenses are interchangeable, so there is no "right" or "left" lens. You will need to tell the salesperson which lens goes where. If your prescription is the same for both eyes, Speedo makes "ready-made" goggles that have the same grade for both eyes (also in GigaSport). They are available in the different prescriptions I described above. I haven't tried them, but I think you should get them, if nothing else but as an inexpensive experiment. Goggles go for HK$170.

Great. Many thanks for that. I think my whole world of underwater viewing is about to see a significant improvement! Cheers.

If you want prescription snorkeling / diving masks, my husband got a pair at the Scuba shop near the Aberdeen Marina Club. Not cheap though.
