To be a sponsor, you must be a Hong Kong permanent resident or a resident who is not subject to a limit of stay (i.e. a resident with the right to land or on unconditional stay). And dependant parents may apply to join you for residence in Hong Kong if they are over 60.

ImmD is pretty tough on these things and rarely, if ever, bend the rules.

I had two sets of friends who both applied when their parents (just the father in case) were over the new age limit. (In one of the cases the wife of one of the couples actually worked in the business of organising visas for HK and she wasn't even aware of the change - shame on her!) They fought but eventually gave up as they were getting nowhere. The single father ended up coming for just 3 months and then going back home and sharing himself around other family members, and the married parents didn't even come. They were not really dependent in the true sense of the word anyway. Good luck, but I don't fancy your chances. I know what Immigration will say if push comes to shove - you can always go back to your home country if it's essential for your parents to live with you; but this is our country and we make the rules.
