You can check Shangrila Resort in Mactan. I'm not sure though how it really is for kids since I did not have my baby yet when we went there though but I remembered them having activities for kids, baby sitting services, a playroom and an aviary, several pools and lovely beachfront access. Plus, they have the Chi Spa Village, where adults can relax while the kids are at play.

It has kids adventure zone. Must wear long sleeve, long trouser (as I remembered). The beach front is really great, can feed the fish by the beach, the hotel provides leftover bread. Pool and food are great. Lovely resort and the spa is really nice too. Restaurant always full especially dinner, so book in advance.

We had a great experience at Plantation Bay last month. I highly recommend it. Our six year old and three year old loved it. The rooms were extremely clean, the service was top-notch and the resort was extremely family friendly. My son even received private free swim lessons every day that we were there. There is also a no tipping policy which is actually very nice for us to not have to worry about having loose change with us at all times. The kids loved the little carts that circle around the resort as well as the horse/buggy rides on the weekends. There is also a playroom, game room and also many fresh water lagoons and salt water lagoons. Some people will say that Plantation Bay is too much like Disney Land because it is man made. However, it is a perfect place to take kids. Shangri-La Mactan was very impressive. We may stay there next time for a change, but Shangri-La is very pricey. We went there for a nice dinner one evening. Bascially, Shangri-La is a five star resort and Plantation Bay is a four star resort. Anyways, I'm happy to answer more details if you want.

Depends what you want.
If you don't mind big, commercial, could be anywher then go to the Shangri-La. If you want small, friendly, know you're go somewhere smaller.

Hi Joshmomm,
Plantation Bay is less expensive than the Shangrila. I contacted the hotel directly through their website. They have a special promotion right now during the summer months. In addition, since there is a strict no tipping policy, you will save a lot of $$$$ compared to the Shangrila. Plantation Bay restaurants are pricey like the Shangrila's, but they don't expect 10 or 15%. Plantation Bay provides a shuttle bus to pick you up to and from the airport, plus they have shuttle buses and hotel taxis that can take you to the malls. Their transport is also cheaper than the Shangrila. We took a Plantation Bay taxi to the Shangrila for dinner one night, and then took a Shangrila taxi back to Plantation Bay. There was about a 200 peso difference which is equivalent to about $4.00.
I am happy to answer more questions for you. Good luck.

hello kensingtonwheaton,
How long is the trip from Plantation bay to Shangri-la? We chose Plantation bay due to many friend's suggestions. They said it's easy to stay in a resort like Shang since it is a hotel-type place, so it would be fun to try plantation bay. The rooms are definitely cheaper. How far is plantation bay from the mall? Thanks!

Hi goldfish,
We took a taxi to the Shangri-la in the evening for dinner. It took about 15 minutes. I didn't make it to the Mall, but should be about the same.
