Thai silk

Does anyone know a good place to buy Thai silk either here or in Bangkok. I am looking for curtain quality

If Bangkok, there are several retailers, depending on the quality , # plys & budget.


1. Jim Thompson's factory sales outlet have discounted material & bargains.

I'll head out to this outlet(Sukhumvit, Soi 93) before venturing elswhere, if based on brand/quality. The range of discounted silk is >50% off the retail price, sometimes more.


If you go to Jim Thompson's retail shops in malls/hotels , the silk will cost more, but you'll get new designs for selection.

Limited choice in these stores but still good venues to browse :-

2. Little stores in Chatuchak Weekend market. A gem if you are looking for rustic silk material as every store has it's own village identity. Need to bargain hard, though.


3. Silk store on the ground floor of a small mall, next to Arnoma Hotel. (I cannot recall the name of the mall). It is located on the right side of the mall's main entrance, near the open space of traditional massage.


You can have the curtains sewn in Bangkok too.
