Has anyone been to M1NT Hong Kong? How is the atmosphere there? Would it be worth the price if I joined the club?
Thanks

Trendy expensive looking bar with fish tanks in the walls, plush sofas, etc. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a members only bar - bankers, poseurs, etc. If you like that sort of thing pay $3,000. Otherwise go to drink in LKF where the bars don't charge you membership to join, and probably have cheaper drinks.

By my estimate less than half the people that frequent M1NT are members, so the point about the membership/joining fee is moot. Am not a member and have never been refused entry (many visits). Still leaves the question of whether you like the place or not and only you can answer that one - going and checking it out is probably a better way than asking on a forum...

Most clubs like M1nt and Kee allow non members in they just don't promote it. If they didn't they would not have enough people to create atmosphere so it's a win win situation.

M1nt is not bad. Drinks are reasonably priced, with bottles of vodka less than $1000 which is MUCH better than other clubs such as Dragon i or Volar...

You cannot compare prices in Wellcome to prices in clubs!!!
Its like comparing buying a steak at a supermarket instead of going out to a fancy restaurant for a steak!!!
In the top clubs in Central, you are looking to pay around $1600 for a bottle of Belvedere Vodka with a couple of mixers. In M1nt, its $980 i think inclusive of as many mixers as you want.

Well if you are comparing upper range clubs, M1nt is priced better! Environment, image, people etc are very similar... its the similar crowd that go to Dragon i, Volar, Kee, Halo etc...
I know if i want to organise drinks and wanted a decent bar to have it, m1nt would be on the top of my list! More tables, got more of a WOW factor with the decoration...and you can buy an Aston Martin off the menu...!

Members only is often for tax reasons, as much as for exclusivity.

I guess judging from some of the responses, there really is no need to join M1NT since I can just go in without a membership. For people who have been to M1NT what would you say the clientele is like? Is it mostly expats or locals? Is the crowd more like dragon-i or like the Hong Kong Club in the Bank of China Building?

the crowd are generally people who think they are pretty special
