Purpose of visit - holiday or business?
Basically don't do anything you wouldn't do anywhere else. HK is not really any different from any other major city in the world. Do what you want and exercise the normal amount of caution re your personal safety. Respect local laws and customs. Things might be different but they are not necessarily wrong. Above all, enjoy yourself.

Don't shop on Nathan Road in TST
Don't think the bar girls in Wan Chai are 'just being very friendly'
Do eat dim sum
Do go up to the Peak to see the view (especially lately the weather is great!) - and the Peak Tram although touristy is fun!
Do take the Star Ferry
If you have time, Do check out Lamma or Cheung Chau Islands or Sai Kung or Shek O (not islands) to see a different side of HK.
If you say what type of shopping you are planning to do, I am sure you will get more specific advice!
Have a good holiday!

Well cosmetics & toileteries of course, decent female shoes size 41, electronics (camera and cellphone). And the rest of things such as clothes, souvenirs, etc,... depending on the money.
Nathan road, why not? is it like the Champs Elysee in Paris?
What about the weather?? raining all the time?

WOW a woman with bigger feet than me - I like you!
Toiletries:
Fanda in WorldWideHouse in Central
SaSa and Bonjour - many branches everywhere
Shoes - stick to Central and Pacific Place for those sizes - Landmark and IFC in Central and Pacific Place Mall in Admiralty
Electronics - Wan Chai computer centre for computer stuff. Camera - Hing Lee Camera on Lyndhurst Terrace in Central. Phone - if you want a PDA or similar try Wan Chai computer centre... regular phones have many options - check out Fortress or Broadway (both have many branches) for basic cameras and phones. Times Square or Mongkok are good places to find both Boradway and Fortress near each other.
Clothes - try Zara, Mango (IFC and Pacific Place), try www.cloud9asia.com as well.
cheap stuff - try Stanley Market, or Ladies Market (bargain really hard!)
Nathan road is touristy and overpriced and lower quality often.
Weather this time of year SHOULD be raining and typhoons, but the past week has been stunning blue skies and super hot. check weather.org.hk

Also re Nathan Road (particularly in Tsim Sha Tsui area) - the camera/electronics shops thre have a notorious reputation for dubious selling practices. Best not to risk it.

Unless you want to wait for more than an hour each going up and down at the tram (if line is beside the cafe, then its around an hour), take the #1 minibus from beside the Squash Centre.
