1st Birthday ideas Please??

I am having a 1st birthday party for my little girl, most of the children will be a year and under but there are a couple of children between 2 & 8. I was wondering what good ideas anyone has for eats for the children and if we are supposed to have games or things for the older kiddies to do?

What about gift bags for the kiddies to take home?


Also what is expected for the parents of the kiddies? Eats and drinks? Also can anyone recommend any eats for the adults, more along the lines of finger foods.

Try to ask Babes about the magician. I remember Gabbie's 1st birthday she hired one.

I had a Rubber Duckie theme for my boys First Birthday. Kept it very simple - Afternoon tea really. Gingham Fabric (check) Tablecloths and a couple of bowls of blue water with rubber duckies floating in them. Served Sausage Rolls, Sandwiches, Spring Rolls, Small Pastries and Cupcakes.


Party Favours:- More Rubber Duckies and Bubbles. 1yr olds love bubbles especially at bathtime. Tie them together with the check ribbon to take home. As for the older ones maybe no Rubber duckie but still something for the bath would be nice??


If you keep it as an afternoon tea I don't think Games are necessary. The majority of the babes are 1 they are all too young. A great big playmat with some great coloured balls(all different sizes)and blocks will be exciting enough.
