how long will a baby fit comfortably in an infant carrier? my bubs is only 2 months old and i find it nerve wracking to take him out in the normal stroller (it's a chicco and is supposedly meant to be for newborns). i can get hold of an infant carrier (family can bring it when they visit next month) and am thinking of buying the universal infant car seat carrier to go with. but is it worth the hassle? will he grow out of it really quickly? baby bjorn is good but it is so hot!!! (also we don't have a car so makes me wonder even more whether we need it... although i know baby bjorn is not so good for taxis either... )

I have the Ergo carrier as well as a Hot Sling.
I use the Ergo if i'm going to be out longer than a few hours because i can put baby on my back and it's adjustable so me and hubby can take turns. If i'm running around for a quick errand then i use the hot sling. i find the sling really easy to get baby in and out of, not as hot as the ergo in this weather, great for taxi, but my shoulder will hurt if i use it for longer than 2-3hrs without a break.
I also have the maxi cosi car seat but hardly used it unless i was going somewhere with my husband (too bulky to manage on my own) to a restaurant or someone's house where i would need a place for baby to 'sit'.
My son is 6mths. I hardly use the stroller especially since i can't manage the stairs on my own (i live in a walk-up). We have been using the Ergo since 4mths (baby needs to be able to hold his head up to go on your back)and have been using the hot sling since birth (cradle carry for the first 3mths, shelved it from 3-4mths when baby still didn't have super good head control and was too big for cradle carry position, and then started using it again at 5mths in the upright position.) Sling can be used up to up to 36lbs and Ergo up to 40lbs
