Hi,

Does anyone know where I am able to purchase jewelry cleaner in Hong Kong? I am desperating needing to clean my jewelry and am not able to find a jewelry store that will sell me a cleaning kit.

Soak in a dishwasher solution and brush lightly with a baby toothbrush to get rid of any of the dirt underneath the settings.

After that, rinse off.

It is also a good time for a periodic check on setting to make sure that stones are not loose. You can buy a cheap magnifier to do this.

WingOn in the basement has those 'dips' and you can get the silver cleaning cloth at WingOn or most supermarkets.


BUT my jeweller cleans my diamond rings and things for me - he uses an old toothbrush and powder laundry detergent! And if you search on the internet you will find this is the most common and safe method.

Yes, if you peek in the back of most jewelry shops you will see mini brushes and tooth brushes and good ol liquid detergent for cleaning.

Tooth paste works great too.

there was a thread on women's about this a while back as well - diamond jewelry with the easily dirtied settings - soak in regular rubbing alcohol and stuff just melts off. (I still do take a baby toothbrush when it's REALLY dirty.)

I picked up Connoisseurs jewelry cleaner from Loft in Seibu. $50 and comes with the tray and little brush.
