Teething problems;HELP!

ORIGINAL POST

Tonight my bub had a really bad night. He struggled hard to fall asleep, frustrated, making a lot of noises. Woke up an hour later, screaming and crying so hard. Much effort needed before he went back to sleep. Past nights, he also had been frustrated, grunting alot before he finally slept.

Is this teething??? He is a few days away from turning 6 months.

If this is teething, any advice on how I can make him feel better???

During the day, he does not seemed to be particularly disturbed. but i do see him pushing his tongue alot against his lower gums.

Thanks!

My LO is going thru the same and it's quite frustrating. I use Bonjela before I put her to sleep which helps a little, but then she would wake up a few hours later screaming. For really bad episodes, I will give her some Calpol or Panadol which always does the trick.

I would also like to know what other mummies do. Any advice??

We use hylands teething tablets, but you can get an all natural homeopathic powder at Bumps 2 Babes that is the same thing... we prefer this to medicine/drugs.

Oh yes our son has been going through hell with his teeth for months. Hylands teething tabs are good, so are Teetha powders and Ashtons and Parsons powders. You can give some Chamomile tea to drink at night. Or muslin cloths soaked in Chamomile tea for chewing. You can also put 2 drops of Rescue Remedy in his water bottle to sip through the day. If all else fails: Calpol or baby Nurofen. GOOD LUCK

Anyone else got a child whose teeth just won't come through? My son is a nightmare with teething. Wakes up crying and is constantly rubbing his gums. His first tooth didn't come till 11 1/2 months and now his 4 th top tooth, he has 4 on bottom now, just won't come out. He seems to have been teething for this one tooth seriously the last 2 months or longer. you can see it and it obviously hurts him but hasn't broken the skin.

He's 20 months old and is so behind on teeth!

I also wondered if that has slowed his speech down also??? Maybe someone knows if there is a correlation?

I dont think teething has much to do with speech development .. My sons teeth came through quite early yet his speech was very delayed .. alot of people say it is 'just a boy thing' but there can be various reasons.

As for the teething issue also find bonjela was my saviour but when I felt teeth were having trouble coming through I would use the bonjela in conjuntion with givin the gums a vigourous rub. This can sometimes just help the teeth cut through .. I would do this a few times every day.

Is baby teething gel any good? The gel is for babies as early as 1 month, mainly to protect the gums?
