Hi! We are an Aussie Family moving to Hk within 6 Months.
We currently live in the US.
We are looking at the Australian International school for our 5 year old son.
Where is a good place to live to be an easy commute to the school? I hear Clearwater Bay is nice with a bus service to the School.
I have looked at Hong Kong Parkview at Tim Tam Reservoir Rd, Wanchai:
Pacific Place,Admiralty Area.
Gold Coast and repulse Bay which is a bit far to go to the school.
My son is also a Diabetic so I need good acess to a good Doctor and Hospital.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Kindest regards,
mandy

Clearwater Bay is on that side. Not sure it would take any longer from the Parkview though. The Gold Coast and R.B. are further you are right... You seem to have accurate info. How long is "too long" though? Perhaps other considerations? Office?

I live in Clearwater Bay, and I see the AIS bus all the time, lots of kids on it. When in the morning, during rush hour, it would take 30 minutes-45 minutes to get to Kowloon Tong. When there is no traffic... it takes us 15-20 minutes to get home from Kowloon Tong.
In my opinion, if you live on the HKisland side, it would be quite a jam on the island side, AND the tunnel to get to Kowloon Tong.

Hi Mantolli
We arrived from Australia 3 months ago now, from australia with 3 girls. We live at Parkview and I have one daughter at the Australian School and one who could not get in but is on the wait list and she is at Bradbury school. The bus from the Australian School does not come to Parkview but it does have a pickup/dropoff spot about 2kms down the road. The bus takes approx. 30min to get to the australian School from this point, the bus usually runs to time. I can highly recommend the Australian School. There is also a Hospital with an Emergency department just before the bus stop...which we have used. Living any further south than Parkview would really be tough travel time wise. Hope this helps.

On the diabetic front. WHen you get here get a GP to refer you to Dr Chan at Qualigenics in Central. He is an excellent endocrinologist.
