I have been in HK a short while & am now looking for employment in the admin/hr/secretarial field - the only problem i face is not speaking the language.
Any ideas where to look for jobs where this will not be a requirment???

From time to time, I see jobs advertised in SCMP or Monster.com.hk for native speakers. In fact, I saw a couple this week in the Marketing field.
Try to type in keywords like "native" in those websites. Or contact some westernised agencies like Michael Page or Ambition. I think most of their recruitment consultants are native speakers so I would expect they have more connection with companies in need of native speaking employees. Good luck.

Lantan, I assume by native speaker, you mean native english speaker.

have tried the careers section on this site several times and have never received a replyo r an acknowledgment back. also tried calling some of them but they give me the runaround.
just a thought - maybe readers can get at least some kind of acnowledgement when they say they got info about a job opening from asiaxpat?

Hang on in there Wiz Bang, things do come up. I suggest you contact the recruitment agencies listed on this website because when then need a Native English Speaker they will check their databases and call you. Don't be surprised if they all list the same job though.
In the meantime, don't be disheartened by the lack of response, it happens all too regularly here and a 'polite no' rarely happens. I've been contacted 6 months later for a role so its ok as long as you're not in a hurry!
You can also try networking with other Native speakers and mention you're looking - my last few jobs here have been through personal contacts...

sk....sorry that was a question for you. I just assumed being that you dont speak the languae you are not local thus would need a work visa or a dependant visa to work which would be very hard to get in an admin related field. At least if you have that, it should be easier to find something.
