A thinking of getting both of this-the professional quality ones as I've read reviews that the home use brands are not really good.


Which professional brands do you recommend? Is Tourmaline better than ceramic? What to look out for?


My online research yielded the following:-

Babyliss

Corioliss

GHD

Sedu


However I can't find it in Singapore! thinking of ordering from Ebay or some online site. But first, if you have any unbiased reviews (hard to get this on the net), pls do let me know.

Balzac, i have tried many brands and a few that you have mentioned and i have to be honest that GHD is really the best of them all. Of course they are not cheap but you can really feel the difference in my opinion. We have a half dozen different ones in the salon and all the stylists go for the GHD first. The new model is even better with dual voltage, improved temp and heat plate and it also comes with an instructional dvd which is great.

Definately get a GHD, I have used them almost since they first came out & cannot praise them enough. I have them in 2 different sizes as its easier to use depending on what u want to do to ur hair.

I am now so good at using them i can even get those nice ringlets in my hair.

chiki, i dont usually carry these kinds of items. I do have 2 of the GHD Styler 4.0B and these sell for HK$1980. THe price for GHD is actually regulated by GHD so you will find it is much the same everywhere give or take for curency conversions.

i looked for GHD MK4 online and it costs about 100 pounds, not including shipping!


D-Man, do you know of cheaper brands of professional tongs which also straighten and curl, like MK4? This is way beyond my budget (at the moment)


COuld you comment on the basic requirements of a good professional tong:

1) Heat setting adjustement

2) Must go above 200 degrees celcius

3) Anything else? Is it necessary for it to be ceramic or tourmaline?

sometimes they do sell direct..I've contacted some of the suppliers for other products in the past. I've located some companies in Singapore..waiting to find out if i can get MK4
