Does anyone know where to buy brown paper bags? I'm looking for the type that you can buy to put your sandwich into.

Thanks - I've looked for them at shops that put themselves out to be environmentally friendly but they didn't have them (they only sell plastic!). I want them for popping popcorn in the microwave so ziploc won't do it... will definitely try Olivers.

I just found a shop that sells them in Sheung Wan at the border of Central
It is approx 100 Jervois Street. That street has lots of small shops selling hundreds of types of bags in paper and plastic including inexpensive shopping bags for gift giving.

I've seen ziploc products for popping popcorn... unfortunately these are not available in hk
so how do you use the brown paperbags for pop corn?

I haven't tried it yet but from what I understand you put 1/4 cup of popping corn in a brown paper bag, fold it over and stick it down with some sticky tape then zap it on high for 2.5 mins (until it stops popping as quickly - 1 to 2 secs b/n pops). Some recipes suggest adding 1 tablespoon of oil but others don't. Others say you can staple the bag (sounds sort of dangerous to me).
It's supposed to be just like microwave popcorn in the bag but less colourings and flavourings and more healthy. I will give it a go and let you all know!
