I started my baby on the bottle with expressed milk when she was 6 weeks old. She took it from day 1 without any problem. She is now 3 months old and from last 1 week just refusing to suck the bottle. I have tried changing the teat to 3m+ as i thought she might be finding the flow less from the infant teat. I am finding it really difficult as I also have a 3 yr old girl and need to leave the house for her activites leaving my LO behind.

Everyday I am wasting abt 3 oz of my expressed milk. Today out of frustration and for want of trying and retrying I kept the same in the refrigerator and heated and reheated the same abt 3 times which is so wrong..Just cant understand whats gone wrong now...just because she is now 3 mths does that make her more rebellious as compared to 6 weeks earlier!!

Pls help!

Try another teat, or another milk...

Let her get very hungry. I noticed that lately, may be b/c of the hot weather, my 2 month old is eating less at each feed. Before he ate roughly every 3 hours, now I try to feed him every 4 hours. It doesn't work always but the eating pattern has improved.

You can try a bottle of another brand. I changed from Dr. Brown to Avent. My son seems to drink better from the latter even though Dr. Brown is more expensive.

Since you are expressing milk, store it in one big bottle but for the feeding just put 20-30 ml at a time. If she eats all add more milk and heat. It will take less than a minute for that much milk to heat. If she still refuses to eat at least you will not waste much milk.

Use a flexible cup, spoon, straw, sippy cup. Make bigger holes in the teat. She might have a cold/ear infection so that sucking can hurt her ears...and babies change! Things they accept readily one day can get hurled away the next. Hang in there!
