How hypocritical of the Australian Government to warn against travel to Bali and yet they do not issue the same standards for UK based on the rational that when questioned Howard says .. they have more publicity in the UK against terrorism.

Not lets remind everyone again when the last two recent bombs went off... Bali has suffered enough without having more warnings to hinder its recovery.

You have your point but you still cannot deny that the media has blown things out of all proportion.

I think the Australian Government has been very responsible on this part. The facts are terror in Bali and Indonesia is a common aspect of life or a large element od these societies make it that way. In the UK terror is not an aspect of daily life, only a similar faction as in the previous 2 countries are trying to make it that way; do we as a civilised nation support them by giving in to their demands of chaos. Maybe, maybe not thats a question for each individual. But facts are that terror in Bali has caused dramatic loses of lives due to the centralised demographics of the community and their lack of effort to curb these elements. The UK, however, has what could be called a civilised population and modern techniques to identify these paracites, of course there has been terror and lives have been lost but the daily threat is minimised due top the identification of there being a problem. Indonesia, however, does not identify this problem and in some ways would rather save face by passing the blame elsewhere and also refuse to fully punish the guilty. The example of the JI leader being released after the Bali bombings is evidence alone. I am an Australia living in China. China like many other asian nations has their problems, these problems are internal problems that dont cause harm to those from outside of the civilisation. t doesnt take a genious to see some Chinese are struggling to adapt with the changing of their country into the emergence of the modern world; that is to be expected. What is impressive is there are no rebellions of any sought and that the government and its people realise it is whats best in the long term for their people. It's not too long ago, no more than 20 years that in some area's of Australia people still rode a horse to the shops and on roads, we were not a developed nation. Like China and other nations we did not turn to terror as a means to stop progress. Bali and Indonesia, I should say the Indonesian populas in Bali, think that terrorism is a way to change the way of the world and force it to conform to their ways and ideas mostly their single and narrow minded religion. As an historian I will add further fire to this blog by saying that historical facts can show their religion is certain not one to kill for and any inteligent person can see flaws in the foundations of their beliefs. This is what our government is doing by issuing warnings against travel to those countries, protecting us against those who have no respect for people wishing to adapt to the world.
