We went to Sai Wan/Tai Long Wan a couple of weeks ago, beautiful beach and pretty remote. Get a bus or taxi from Sai Kung, or park at the country park carpark, and get a taxi to the pagoda. From there its a 40 min walk down to the beach. There are a couple of restaurants including a noodle place run by a very colourful character called Mr Lai, (its the 2nd one you come to). You can call and book a taxi from there to meet you back at the pagoda. There is no signal for mobiles. The water was great, shallow, warm and the cleanest and clearest I've seen anywhere in HK. The walk back up the hill is tiring though, really steep at one point, but worth the effort.

You can also get a speedboat instead of taking the ferry across and hiking over. about 60 HKD for min. 3 person extra add $20HKD. There are two beaches so if you want access to Mr. Lai stay on Sai Wan Side, if you dont mind a little climb (10mins) spend the day on the Tai Wan side. You can pick up a speed boat to get back just wave them in or tell the guy when you would like to depart.

The boats mentioned above leave from Wong Shek Pier which is about 20-30 minutes drive into the country park from Sai Kung. They each take you to Chek Keng Pier and it is then a 40 min hike up over the hill and down into Tai Long Wan. If you want to go all the way to the beach the same speedboats will take you for $70 each minimum of 5 persons or $350. Well worth it as they are easily the best beaches in HK.

Also try Long Ke beach. Taxi from Sai Kung Central is around $85, quick walk in and it is clean and beautiful (just like Tai long
Wan)..enjoy!
