fitting a gas hob -any ideas or experience

We have just got a new counter top gas hob (bottle gas) but we have found that no-one (inclduing the shop who sold it to us) is willing to fit it as we live too far away (you need to go by a sampan as there are no roads).


Apparently you are required by law to have the gas hob fitted by a professional but this is proving impossible. Has anyone fitted one themselves or have any suggestions for a flexible gas fitter who doesn't mind getting on a boat. We are close to Pak Sha Wan near Sai Kung.


Basically it looks like you only need to join the pipe from the hob to the pipe from the gas bottle and secure with a ring thingy...looks simple. Is it? I'd hate to blow us all up!
