Weekend in China

Has anyone had a good weekend away in China not Shanghai or Beijing though? Somewhere that's not more than a 2 hour flight from HK, with a good mix of culture, food and nightlife?

I like Yangshuo (close to Guilin). Its small bit has nice bars and a great environment.
