Where to Ride my Bike

Just got my motorcycle license and bought a Kawasaki Ninja. Currently I'm driving it around the peak, just so I can get the hang of it. What other roads would be nice for driving? I plan to take it to Stanley and Shek-o over the weekend. Are there any bikers out there that get together once in a while?

Sounds like Route Twisk is the one for you. Thats the road going up to Tai Mo Shan, behind Tsuen Wan. It starts at the Tsuen Kam roundabout in Tsuen Wan & ends up in Shek Kong (the old British, now PLA army barracks). It's a good open hilly, twisting road going up to the highest peak on the Territory side.


There's a good road which goes near the peak, turn right near the top (could be a bit busy with hikers, who have little road sense!...it is in the country park, near popular hiking trails & bbq areas). At Shek Kong, turn right at the roundabout & head down Lam Kam Rd, which will take you through the Lam Tsuen valley (past Kadoorie Farm) to the Tolo freeway near Tai Po. Follow the freeway back to the island, but go through the Tates Cairns tunnel & Eastern tunnel. Much more open than the Lion Rock & Central tunnels.


To get to Tsuen Wan....click onto http://www.centamap.com/gc/home.aspx & figure out a route.....you can get there by heading towards the airport, via Western tunnel & going over the Ting Kau bridge...you'll have to exit left & double back a couple of clicks down the road & head into Tsuen Wan....I think the freeway will get you there....take a map!
