I guess maybe I misunderstood when HK became a No Smoking city.
Whilst out recently I have had people smoking around me in a bar. Yesterday whilst out for lunch we were told that the LKF bar/restaurant we were in allowed smokers because they have a licence.
A licence to smoke...

Just to reinforce the weekness of the HK government they offered outlets the option to apply for a 2 year smoking extension. It defeats the purpose of having a ban but again the HK govt lack the balls to enforce an environmental issue 100%.

To make matters worse, these restaurants that got the extension are now "no children under 18" places. We have, in about 2 months, lost almost 10 "favourite" family places!

Here is an interactive list of places to avoid till 2009 - or even after that... if they don't want your custom, look for places which do and don't go back to the others post-2009.
Had a group of visitors who wanted to dine al fresco at a certain restaurant at Fenwick Pier. That restaurant has smoking in the outside area. It lost our business, not that it probably cares.
