I have decided to pick up sewing as a hobby. I have done some in the past but do not have tons of experience. I have a simple/basic sewing machine and plan to sew things for my children--basic items that is. Are there any sewing clubs out there? Or is there anyone with tons of experience that would be willing to share their experise? Thanks!

How about sharing what you want to sew?
I started off with small zipped pencil bags, pyjamas bottoms, skirts, patchwork blankets etc. For size patterns, initially, I made a copy from their pyjama bottoms to start off and later, googled online for ideas as well as purchasing some basic patterns.
My girls love them as I zest them according to their requests ... cartoons fabrics, laces trimmings, off the shelf iron-ons etc.
The girls helped me in cutting the fabric squares for the blankets, so a good way to spend an afternoon with them.
