I'd like to go to Hong Kong for a while. Could somebody suggest to me how much I would need to spend every month for general living expenses such as: food, bills, internet, and a bit of public transport.

cool thanks. Thats about what I had considered. I'm a student though so I would want to try to minimise the rent. Is it possible to rent on room of an apartment or find some other people who wish to do the same. Whats the easiest way of achieving this.

Yes it's easy to share apartments here but you may find it still can be expensive, although it all depends on what you're expecting. If you choose to live somewhere like Lantau or Lamma you will find rent a lot cheaper. There is a ferry ride into town but if you're not working it could be a pleasant part of your day.
