My husband recently deleted 300 of our holiday photo's from my camera. We did start taking more as we still had 2 weeks of holidays left. Is there ANY way I can retrieve them even though the card said "no data available" after he did it. I am so upset. It is a small Pentax camera.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not my area of expertise, but I suspect that the camera uses a standard memory chip. If that is the case (and even if it isn't) I would go to the internet and check on undeleting photos - I assume, silly me, that cameras use the same technique as computers - that means the files are marked as erased (the first character in the file name is deleted and the space becomes available for new files/data, but everything else remains), they remain on the medium until they are written over. So, if you can find a software program that will undelete the first character of the file name (or you put in the first character)your files will hopefully "miraculously" reappear.

I've retrieved missing photos from a memory card before, using the techniques that ldldjr suggested. However, if you used the card after the photos were deleted it's almost certain that the space they were on was overwritten and they are no longer there. This is one reason that I ALWAYS carry 2 or 3 memory cards with me.

Thanks you so much IdIdjr, I got very excited about that and have been on the computer all day. But as hkkm said, once we started taking more photo's I have a feeling it has overwritten the space as it didn't seem to work.
Next time, 2 camera's and spare memory cards!
