Hello,

I'm planning to have a party with entertainer/clown/mascot, but i read that most babies are scared of them, will the party be boring if i don't hire one? what will the babies and kids do?

Anyone had birthday party at kindyroo or little gym?

Try My Gym. My 1-year-old had a great time! Don't bother with entertainer or clowns. The babies are too young for that.

This is true as an entertainer myself, i have realized that one year olds arent my best. So a clown or larger than life character would be terrorizing for an infant. All of them start to cry as soon as they lay their little eyes on a clown. Somethign simple and not too outrageous would be better for a one year old.

All babies naturally love to see animals. My baby kids enjoyed much with Goatee Toni's amazing animals.

honeypie, you're quite right, at that age my daughter was terrified of clowns and the mascots at Ocean Park. She wouldn't take her photos with them and would cry if we forced her. She's nearly 3 and she's mentioned wanting to go to Disneyland so I'm hoping that she won't be too afraid when she sees the Disney characters. I'm taking her tomorrow so we'll see.

I've had 3 birthday parties for her so far and I must say that her 3rd birthday party (held last Sunday) was the only one she REALLY participated in. Before that, it was more like MY party.

I would say for the first two birthdays to just keep it fairly simple, then go all out from the third birthday onwards.

Hi MayC,

I've decided not to hire clowns/magicians, but i'll have some "normal" entertainers. Yes, it would be MY party with adult friends.

im still looking for an entertainer, the one who makes balloons on animal shapes etc...etc....just for half and hour or so, just to keep the kids busy for a moment rather than taking care of them running around. Anyone have any contact I will be happy to have it. thanks a lot!
