obsession with soiled nappy?

does anyone had this experience? my 17 month old has become very possessive about his soiled nappy (wee ones, not poop). when we change him, he wants to hold the old one (and sniff it) and gets hysterical if he doesn't get to walk all the way to the kitchen and bin it himself.

Ours likes to throw things in the bin... but we use cloth so haven't had that experience with the wet nappies, but he does put his laundry in the laundry basket... seems normal for this age?

I would turn it into a mummy's helper game... take the nappy off, fold it over, and give it to toddler and say 'can you help mummy and put the dirty nappy in the bin please?'

This too shall pass. It IS their wee wee, after all!

;-)

I'd give him two months...then the thrill will be gone.

My 18 month old daughter also insists on throwing her own used nappy in the bin almost everytime!
