my hubby has gotten us in a lot of financial debt, i just found out, for the past 2 years he has been lying to me about it and now that i know im horrified.
besides being on the verge of a breakdown, i dont know what to do. i dont trust or respect him, want to leave him and we have a son. yikes

see a counsellor, there are agencies who offer a sliding scale. this is now more of a financial issue but of a trust issue in your relationship.
his problems may be deeper than what you think it is.
start being on top of the finances today

See a lawyer to see what is the extent of the financial dammage part.
Then you have a clearer view of the stakes.
Maybe, for the sake of your son, it might be better to separate from husband, even if you are still sentimentaly tied, as you may not be involved in repaying his debt (to be checked with lawyer / financial adviser).
