Not sitting in high chair

My bub has always been a good eater. He never fusses about anything we feed him and he used to sit well in his high chair (with some distraction sometimes). These couple weeks he decided that he doesn't like sitting in the high chair any more and always tries to climb out and stand up. Helper is alone to take care of him and so it makes feeding more and more difficult for her.

With a lot of effort he still manages to finish his share of food so there's nothing wrong with the food.

He is 10 months old soon and I read that he may want to try participate in feeding himself so we also offer him a spoon and some finger food. But it doesn't seem to help him sit patiently.

We are using PegPerego high chair. Maybe the seat is too big and deep so he feels hot and like being trapped? Anyone got similar experience with their babies? Shall I get him a booster seat instead?

Thanks for advice!

I have this problem when I'm the one doing the feeding. So I improvised. I prop her on my lap and then feed her - she loves it!

Now, if only I can get her to sit in her stroller....

Ha ha - I have the same problem too - will sit in it if he plays with his plastic bowls and spoons (you can try this) but it doesn't last long and we end up feeding him on my lap. Same thing with the stroller too - he hates sitting in them and cries so hard. It's a pain having to carry him all the time as he cannot walk steadily on his own yet. Hoping that once he can walk he will want to sit in his stroller when he feels tired or don't want to walk.

Thanks. Seems like I likely will have to sit him on my lap. bbvv - this is exactly the case of my boy too. He never likes sitting in his stroller too. I'm waiting for the day he can finally walk by himself. haha!

Same here..... figured that they actually like to sit like us at the dining room table. So I removed the table from the highchair. Seems to be better. Then the next phase, we bought the booster (inflatable) from First Safety.... sits with us at the dining room table. Loves it.
