water filter

I want to buy a good water filter to use here in Hong Kong that I could also use somewhere else whan I leave. Do you have any suggestions.

I think the OSIM is good. We also use this one that's ceramic (from UK). You can clean the ceramic thing.... (we do it every month, and then change to a new one every 6 months). Seemed to have improved our water quality....

does a water filter help when the pipes are old in a building. at times our water comes out yellowish/brown and I assume this is from the pipes and the idea of drinking it...yuck

I had the same problem when I came here. I came from Australia. I did alot of research in the filters available here. It really depends on whether you want reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, ceramic etc. My solution was to purchase a "Wellness" filter from home. In a nutshell this filter is a combination of many types of filters, filtering out mostly everything and then running the water through about 6 different types of minerals. Each year I purchase a new filter which they send at minimumal cost.
