cordless phone- dect vs. xx ghz

hi, for those tech savvy people... I need to buy a new cordless phone and it seems that a majority of the phones for sale here in HK are either dect or 2.4 ghz. I've tried looking up the difference in these technologies on the internet, but I still don't understand it all. Any recommendations? I live in a 1200 sq ft flat and would like the phone to work anywhere in the flat. Thanks!

Standard norm is DECT phones... just pick up a decent brand DECT phone and u should be good to go!

the ghz with wide coverage and that's used in the u.s. (me thinks) and has coverage of several football fields is not allowed in hk i.e. it is not certified for use in hk.
