Family friendly short break

ORIGINAL POST

We're looking for short breaks for Easter and CNY next year. Travelling with 2 kids (3 and 5 years old). Beach/pool based holidays, or activities to suit kids.

Went to Kota Kinabalu last year which was great.

Any suggestions??

Thailand? Vietnam? Singapore?

Especially like to hear from families with young children.

Thanks.

Cebu's worth a visit - direct flights from HK too.

Bangkok can be good for a few days - plenty to do (zoo, water park, river trip )- stay at a 'resort' hotel or at least one with a decent pool area.

Singapore / Sentosa also have lots to keep the kids entertained.

I've just come back from Shangri La Rasa Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. Had a fabulous time. The hotel has direct access onto the beach where there are various boats - kayaks etc to hire. Sentosa itself has lots to do - the Luge (part skateboard/toboggan) that you ride on down a hillside (my 2yr old loved it sitting between my legs) and much more.

We did a Ducktour (google it) around Singapore, open top bus ride with the same company, had a boat cruise and the best of all the Night Time Safari.

Highly recommend it. If you want to know more just ask.

Thanks for that, Shangri-La sentosa was on the short list - nice for some feedback.

Did you have interconnecting rooms?

We were actually all in a Garden Executive Room on the ground floor but there was a connecting door so had we wanted the kids in a separate room we could have paid for another room as well. We had my 2 kids in with us in a cot and a rollaway bed and there will still enough room to leave behind the sofa bed which my daughter found slightly hard especially for a 9 night stay.

We wanted a ground floor room as near to the pool as possible so didnt have any lengthy walks up in lift lobbies especially when kids have a habit of forgetting things :( !!.

We had room 106.

Check out the details of the luge - we went so many times it was untrue.
