I have a 7 year old boy and 6 year old girl and always find time out or the 'naughty spot' works. It is important to be consistant and it dosen't matter where you are you need to make sure he knows that he is going to be put in the naughty spot. My kids stay there a minute for every year of age and must apologise before they come out.

Try to make sure that your child isn't hungry or thirsty. Very often low blood sugar can cause lashing out like this. Sometimes it is what the child is eating as well. Try to circumvent this sort of behaviour with a snack of protein rich foods or nuts and some water.

when my child gets like this. I tell him I don't like his behaviour, but I love him, And then give him a big hug , cuddles and lots of tickles. I then turn him upside down into a hand stand let the blood rush to his head for a min or 2. Then he is back to normal. Try it!! Love always wins.
