My husband’s job has taken us temporarily to Europe. My husband is British and I am Chinese. I plan to come back when my husband finishes his work in Europe and have our daughter educated locally here. I treasure living together as a family but that might mean that my daughter can only come back when she reaches her Grade 2 (P-2) here. Is it better I come back with my daughter early so that she can have a fresh start from Grade 1? Or we should enjoy all our yeears living together. I appreciate your input. Many thanks.

i agree - stay together. My family travelled overseas when my brother and I were young, and it gave us great experiences that we never would have had otherwise (although I soon forgot the German I learned).
The only thing that you may need to think about, if your daughter is going to go to a local school when you get back, is her Chinese language skills. Spoken may not be an issue if you speak Cantonese to her at home, but you may need to do extra work with her to make sure she is up to whatever level of written Chinese is required for kids of that age at local schools.

I also say stay together. Kids can move quite easily at that young age and she will be fine going back to local school. Just keep up her Chinese language education and enjoy the experience. Also, I would think that it's more expensive to seperate the family than to pay for school in Europe.
