Swearing

Children will learn to swear at school, what is most important is that they learn the time and place rule.

I agree with Saikunga, come down hard on this one and insist the is not acceptable - how about no TV for a week!

The more fuss you make the more the child will want to use the word as he knows it will get a big reaction. Ask him where he heard the word, and tell him that its not a nice word and you don't want to hear him saying it. And make sure you don't swear in front of him, then he can't come back with 'but mummy, you use it'. The novelty of swearing will wear off if you don't make a huge fuss.

Also try not to xpose your child to T.V too much. If he swears ignore it. Let him know once that It is not nice and it makes you upset to hear these words. Look him in the eyes when you say this then dont mention it again.
