Hi all. I am looking for a school for my son, we live in Bangkok. My son is 3 years old, so he will be in K1.
Most of the international schools here that I have visited have very long schooling time i.e. start at 8.30 am and finish at 2.30 pm. I feel that six hour schooling time per day is too long for a 3 year old kid. Back home the schooling time for this age group is about 2 or 3 hours per day.
Because of this, currently I feel confuse, should I send him to school or keep him at home for another year. If I send him to school, he will reach home from school at around 3.30 to 4pm everyday (traffic jam in Bkk is so bad, although the school is near our home). That means he will spend most of his time outside and he is just a 3 years old. When he reach home, he may already feel very tired and will just sleep. I feel that besides going to school, I still want him to spend more time at home, and play with his younger brother. Anyone has ever experience like this? Should I let him go to school now or postpone it until next year?
Is there anyone in this forum who also live in Bangkok, so can advise me which school has shorter schooling time (2 or 3 hours per day). Preferably the school also has Chinese language lesson.

Singapore International School of BKK?
Anglo-chinese something along this line somewhere in the maze of Sukhumvit, a few soi ard Samitivej hostpital? Harrow International School? Don't remember what is the school hour like but these schools definitely offer Chinese in their curriculum. There is one school near Central Shopping in Chitlom - Mulberry something that offer 3 hours schooling but no Chinese for your son's age. The lady running the school is from UK. Check that out too.
