Hi,
I came to Hong Kong from Australia a couple of weeks ago but had to return to Australia for family related issues after staying on the Isle for two weeks.I liked what I saw but will only return when I have resolved my issues.
I have been granted a HK ID card and am having a former colleague send me the ID card by post.My question to you folks is how easy is it for me to get a job from Australia now that I have my Hong Kong ID card.
I will not return to work for my former employer;the VTC,because they have a few structural deficiencies to deal with themselves.
Constructive replies in getting a job from long distance is most appreciated.Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks for replying Greenvalleys,
What does the acronym MNC mean?

Yep, Multinational Corporation. I think it depends on how badly you want to come back. If you definitely want to try and tackle this from afar, then I think that having an HKID card is not going to help you a lot. But if you were willing to come back and look for work, I know that one of the first questions people get asked is whether they have an ID card. Now, as GreenValleys noted, this technically doesn't put you in a better position since your new employer needs to go through the whole process that your first employer (in your case, the VTC) already has. So it could be that when they ask if you already have an HKID, they really mean the right to work in HK free of conditions (i.e., a permanent HKID which one can apply for after seven years). But nonetheless, being in HK with an ID card gives you a better chance than trying to do it from afar with or without one.
