Umbrella stroller for air travel

We haven't tried to bring the stroller on the plane, usually we stroll all the way up to the plane and then someone will collect the stroller for check-in and usuallly it's there by the time we get off the plane.

We recently traveled using the sit 'n' stroll and were very happy with it.

I've found each airline is different. With some I have to hand the stroller in where you hand in your boarding passes. Others I take it all the way down to the entrance of the plane and they store it somewhere.

Also found some airlines have it waiting for you when you depart the plane, others you have to go to the baggage collection area.

I use the Maclaren XT, its extremely lightweight and have 3 positions and is easy to collapse. Why not pop into Bumps to Babes, Mothercare and try out a few strollers to see which one you prefer.

really depends on individual airlines.

we have only flown twice with our kid and both time we could take our massive pram until right before we board the plane. the ground crew would tag the pram and we will collect it either right by the fire exit after alighting or at the baggage carousel (it's not usually on the carousel, they take the entire load of prams out and lay them on the floor next to it).

i have seen a family on a flight who managed to pack a very small umbrella pram. your best option is to call your preferred airline and enquire before making a purchase!
