Last time I checked it's hk$150 for a Philippine passport holder (good for 5 days, valid only in Shenzhen). Must be higher for a German passport holder. Check with China immigration.

You may want to think about getting them in advance from HK if you're going on a weekend. Last time I went on a Sunday and waited in line on the boarder for my visa - never again, unless you have a spare couple of hours. I think it takes around 3 working days for the visa to come through, unless you want to pay more and get them processed faster than that.

quovadis,china consulate is located in china resources building,gloucester road,just opposite wan chai police station,they will be closed during lunch hours.
