I got a free Nokia camera/cell phone last year and just started using it. It does not say the model anywhere on the phone. I threw the box out. How can find out what it is and if I can use it in the US with a different sim card?

Open it at the back. The model # should be below the battery or at the top part, above the battery.

alternatively, just in case you don't want to open your phone, you may key in *#0000# on your mobile.

something will appear. take note of the characters on the third deck. Those are unique codes that correspond to your model.

Do a google search of that and there goes your Nokia model.
