You'd think buying a Vacuum Cleaner in HKG would be a simple matter . . . er, not so.
Can anyone suggest ( other than Fortress ) somewhere to buy a decent vacumm cleaner ?

As many people in HK don't own a vacuum cleaner, it's hardly surprising.
Check the usual suspects. Sogo has some, including Numatic. Wing On has Siemens, Miele, Rowenta, Philips, Electrolux, Samsung, Panasonic.

I have a Rowenta and a Philips. In terms of quality and performance, I prefer the Rowenta over the other ... it's cheaper too.

I have posted before to recommend a cheap little Midea from Pricerite. Since coming to HK we have bought several Midea appliances and all have been excellent. At home I have a long haired dog so twice have bought highly recommended expensive vacuum cleaners that were rubbish so here I chose the cheapest one around and it is perfect. Priceright is also excellent - we've bought heaps there with no problems.
