My baby has three "meals" a day of pureed veggies, fruits cereals etc.
I'd like to have an idea of how other mums space out meals during the day.
I also feed him (breastmilk) about 4 times a day.
He refuses to take EBM or formula from a bottle from anyone (me, helper, hubby) as he hardly had aything from the botte for the 6 weeks that we were on holiday.
how can i get baby to drink from bottle again? I've tried advent and Nuk bottles.
also what formula to use? i've tried cow and gate and also enfamil. any suggestions?

hi, formulas are pretty similar to each i think, not much point changing it really. We have always used Aptamil (we were told by the nurse in UK where our babies were born) that it was closest to breastmilk - but I suspect all brands claim that..
We always used Gina Ford "Contented Baby" book for our feeding schedule - but here it is:
7 am - formula (around 200-220 ml)
7.30 or so - cerial
10 am - snack, a piece of fruit and a drink of water
12 - lunch +water
2.30 (after their nap) formula, they dont drink that much at that time - 100-150 mls max and a snack - rice biscuit or fruit
5 pm dinner
around 7 pm - formula before bed (200 ml)
But our babies are older at the moment - but I have had this schedule as long as I can remember (maybe 9 mnths or so?) - guess you have to adjust the snacks (does you lo have buiscuits etc)?
Hope this helps!

Hi,
my 8mth old son has been on this routine since 6mths:
830 or 9am breakfast then bottle right after
1130 or 12 lunch then bottle right after
3pm bottle
6pm dinner then bottle right after
830 or 9pm bottle before bed (he only needs this bottle sometimes, other times he'll go to bed around 830 and stay down until the morning 830am)
I dont let him snack during the day, i just feed him his meal when he wakes up. I follow the baby whisperer feed/play/sleep sequence. Mine was on EBM until 6mth then Enfamil since 6mths and use the nuk nipples.

if your child doesn't want to take a bottle why not try him on a sippy cup, or a straw one, maybe he just doesn't want to do the bottle thing.
we used the "NestleNan ha gold" for our girls, who were bottle fed from day one.

Thanks all - the question on which formula to use was basically because he doesn't want to have the ones that i've tried on him so far.
I'll get both and try them on him to see which one works.
I got him sippy cup and he's just learning to use it. he sips water in it quite happily but not more than an ounce or so, so i'm not sure if it can be used for a feed of 6-8ounces : also having him breastfeed directly means i have nooooo idea of how much he's drinking.
i guess my feeding schedule resembles the one of MML....only i do the feed before the meal. I might try to reorganise his schedule following GF to see if that works better. Theres' something wrong with the way his meals and feeds are scheduled now.
thanks again for the input

No need to use a bottle. A cup should be introudced when commencing solids. Baby can use a sippy cup, regular cup or cup with a straw later.
