Schooling advice

My daughter is 1 year old and whilst I feel she is still much to young to be thinking about sending her to school I have been told that in order to get her into a school of our choice I need to register her now. We are living in TST and will be for another year and then we are planning to move to Sai Kung/Clearwater bay.

Can anyone recommend schools in Sai Kung/Clearwater Bay and can you share your opionion about applying to a school so early?

What age to most in HK start their children in school?

I am also wondering how one chooses the right school for their kids? What should we be looking for? And what the process is with schooling in HK - debentures etc

Thanks!

Have you checked out Hong Lok Yuen (near Tai Po). there is a hong lok yuen international school caters from nursery to year 8. All taught in English and follows the IB.

The area is a nice place to live (mainly houses). some have gardens and pools. school is situated within walking distance.

Our little man, goes to Lok Yuk, local school in Sai Kung (K1), he is enthusiastic each day about going and seems to be very happy. The bonus is that even after only a couple of weeks we can already notice him using a little cantonese when he talks, from our initial impression the school seems very caring and proactive with the little ones.

If you are looking for a friendly, local school, I would recommend Lok Yuk.

Best of luck
