How to prevent soggy sandwiches?

I'd like to pack lunch for work. How do we pack veggies on a sandwich so that the sandwich doesn't become soggy? I see Pret put veggie on their pre-packed sandwiches too and the sandwiches never become soggy. How do they do it?

Avoid tomatoes.

Dry the lettuce well.

Pack the filling and the bread separately.

Use pita pockets (and pack the filling separately)

What do you put in yours?

In the jamie oliver book I've got he suggests that you cover both pieces of bread right to the edge with butter/marg so that vegs are never in direct contact with the bread. He swears it won't result in soggy sandwiches.

Butter both sides of wholemeal or grain bread pcs , have 2 slices of cheese sandwiched between the veg fillings and then wrap up in cling foil.

I have sandwiches for my lunch a couple of times per wk.
