Vacuum cleaner for wooden floors?

I think the 'wet' cleaners are more for carpets as it has the steam clean function. For wooden floors just get a normal vacuum cleaner with brush head (so you don't scratch the boards) to pick up the dust then mop to clean. Don't even need any special floor cleaning detergent - just a splash of dettol is enough to kill germs!

we have the osim iecologi which has a steam cleaning function, useful not just for floors but for mattresses, upholstery etc. to us its a necessity because we have a houseful of hairy pets, a toddler + another bub on the way.

I use the equivalent of a swiffer sweeper and it is magic - can go flat so you get right under the couch or beds. It looks like a flat mop but you put a dust type cloth over the base and off you go, it's really fast and you'll be surprised just how much dust, hair etc it picks up - got it at Wing on.

We just bought a Roweta vaccum cleaner. It has a special brush esp designed to clean wooden floors.Availiable at Fortress, Queen's Road. Pretty satisfied.
