I am posting this prob again after 46 days. My 4.5 month old has again started giving me bottle problems. She did the same once she turned 3 months...but restarted in a few days and now again from last 4 days refuses to suck from the bottle. Just chews on the nipple but doesnt suck.....Been taking Avent bottle from 6 weeks onwards..one feed per day my own expressed milk....was planning to start formula in the night but her not taking the bottle has made that difficult....
Does anyone else face similar prob....all exp, advices, suggestions are most welcome...
thanks a lot

perhaps she now found the teat too small, I mean the hole. As she has grown up, may need a bigger teat... a better flow of milk for her
can try stage 2 nipple
my suggestion, not sure izzit work for yours

Get husband or helper to give her the bottle. Mine wouldn't take the bottle from me at 4 months also.
He didn't mind EBM in a bottle from helper till about two months back.

smsm - mine did the same exactly around 4.5 months too. He suddenly refused the bottle (I/ helper fed him expressed BM once a day too). He used to be on Avent bottle and teats. So we tried bigger teats etc but didn't help. At the end we tried different other bottle brands and ended up he took from Pigeon. We are still using Pigeon from then on. Maybe you can try too.

my bubba is on a hunger strike too!!! he is 4 months old and this just started yesterday. he's been on advent bottles since 6 weeks and no problems till yesterday. he's on the # 2 teat which is for 3m+ i think. is it the formula or the bottle?? is it just something that will pass relatively soon? he didn't eat much at all yesterday - only 2 oz at each feed and it's meant to be 5 oz at each feed...
not sure what to do! don't want to rush out and buy new bottles and formula if it's just something that will pass in a couple of days... ???
