just wondering if any of you have tried the womens health check-up service at the family planning association? I see they do pap smears and a whole range of other checks and their prices are really reasonable...

... but was just wondering what its like. do they speak english and offer a good service?

any feedback would be appreciated!!!

I have. They spoke great english, were thorough and prompt, and the price was good. It is no fuss, no frills though.

Do you have an ID Card?

They took my details, then I was seen by a nurse. She did the basics - blood pressure, height, weight etc. Different people seem to do different things, so there is a little bit of getting your name called, go into a room, come out, wait, name called, go into a different room. From memory (this was three years ago for a specific problem) the doctor was the last person I saw. Take something to read.

I think i looked up the internet for my nearest clinic then called and made an appointment. I would certainly use them again. I take my kids to the government health services for their vaccinations and health checks. It is free/cheap and they are thorough. And as a local mother said to me 'you know the vaccinations are fresh'

It is quite no-nonsense, so if you need to be cossetted a little - this is not for you.

works fine for me too, PUTI still same procedure, but you should have a HK ID to get through it, if not then better go to a private doctor. I reckon pap smear cost 100$, and remember the last time I went for check up I paid 20$.....and now they have this electronic system, they send you by email the result of your test and then they will email you the next schedule and they will be sending reminder before it.

FYI you can walk-in too, they have a clinic in Southorn Stadium in wanchai, I always go there and maximum time i wait is 15-20 minutes, depends what time you go sometimes some people they like to go in the morning, i always go after lunch, not busy.
