ok this is absolutely doing my head in...

i breastfeed my bubba through the night (and he has formula during the day). what happens when you travel to a different time zone? we are going to the states soon and it will be an exact 12 hour time difference. so when should i b/f him??? my understanding is that my body now produces milk for him at night time - so does that mean i will have to b/f him in the day time when we get to the states? the other thing is - he will not take the boob when he is awake cos he is so used to the bottle now. (my b/f times are roughly 8pm, 11pm, 2am and 5am). all these times, he is sleeping. (and no he is not sleeping through the night but that is another story!)

has anyone else had to deal with this situation?

When I travelled to the US I was still BF and FF during the day and BF at night too (but only for dreamfeed)...But, as the pp said, pumping might do you well, esp. if your LO only likes the bottle during the daytime. How long will you be there? Your body will adjust, due to your sleep cycles. I guess the important thing is to keep up your supply. When I travelled, my supply dipped (probably due to tiredness and stress of a whirlwind trip around the country!). It will take a few days to adjust from the jet lag/time difference; I remember it took us a good 3 days to get back on our day/night schedule (including naps). Even then, he was still a bit restless at night and once he nursed he was fine. HTH, Good luck!
