Fastest Internet/ISP in GZ?

Can anyone tell me what the fastest internet available in Guangzhou is? We have both a cable modem (1M) and aDSL (3M) in our apartment, but neither provide a very good signal. We always have an excellent signal in hotels around China, so I know it's possible to get something better. I saw something about a T1 connection on Discover Guangzhou, but of course they didn't say anything about how to get it.


Someone please help! I'm so tired of my slingbox not working properly because we can't get a good signal...

3 Mb/s is the fastest currently available in Guanzhou. Whether you actually get this speed, however, really depends on how close you live to the ISP. Even a block away from the ISP, the actual speeds you achieve start to drop notably. A T1 connection is a line leased directly from the phone company. Having a T1 line doesn't give you internet. You need the whole ISP infrastructure to get that. That means you still have to pay all your ISP's costs, plus the cost of the T1 line. T1 lines are expensive to lease and, as such, are normally leased only by ISPs and companies that need the bandwidth. While it is possible to lease a T1 line and become your own ISP, the costs are usually considered to be prohibitively high for the typical individual user.
