Mosquitoes...

Is there anything we can use in the flat to prevent mosquitoes? I dont want to install screen windows (since this is a rental flat and I would have to spend quite a bit of money to re-do the windows) but am wondering what I can do short of spraying myself and my baby with repellant?

Are any of the plug in types safe to use around baby?

Any (relatively) inexpensive barriers to put on the windows that will allow breeze in but keep bugs out?

Thanks everyone.

Can you ask your landlord to put screens in?

Look around your flat to see where they are breeding. Make sure there isn't any standing water under plant pots etc.

We are on a pretty high floor, so no plants around. Only stagnant water is from puddles after it rains, and the landlord will definitely not install anything for us. :(

Amazing how mosquitoes can get into flats that are 30 stories above ground level.

There is a shop in Wanchai(on Queens rd East )in between Hopewell centre and Pacific Place(closer to Hopewell centre) and it is sells everything from cleaning stuff to pots and pans.It has boxes and cabinets that sit outside on the path.I was there yesterday and noticed upstairs(it is two floors)they had nets that you could stick onto the windows and doors. Not very expensive and perfect for your problem.Hope you can find the shop.
