Taxi solutions?

ORIGINAL POST
Posted by MumBee 19 yrs ago
My baby is about to outgrow the infant carrier part of the travel system, but we dont know what "the next step" is in terms of riding in a taxi. What is a safe alternative without having to carry around a car seat?

Thanks.

depending on her age, you can consider the joeysafe harness (a.k.a freedom rider) or the tote n go or sit n stroll. these have been discussed in previous threads and a quick google search should also provide you some answers.

we use joeysafe. it's not as secure as a carseat but it's very portable and still provides protection, better than nothing at all.

MumBee - I could not find the joeysafe anywhere in HK I am afraid - I did look for it after the last thread. So what we do is that airplane vest thingy from B2B? It has a little loop at the back - so you put your own seat belt through the loop and pop the baby on your lap. It is not great, but better than nothing.. They are bright red - you will see them straight away in B2B I think.

Thanks for the replies so far. Apparently the Joeysafe company has gone out of business?

hi wheelymate, yes thanks i did get the cot and found it really useful in India. We had to keep pèacking up our bags and beds and move between about 5 cities so the p&T's was light and easy to set up and dismante and also kept mosquitoes away.

baby came down with his first flu in india so there were a few nights that we coslept, but on the whole he did sleep in the P&T's.

good to know!

i think the P&T is unbeatable when it comes to its portability. as for assembly, i find it quite easy although my husband struggles with it for some reason, haha!
